Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Cherry Hill, NJ

What You Need to Know About Dentistry

Every day, Dr. Meadvin answers plenty of questions from patients regarding their dental care and the best way to take care of their unique smiles. To help you take control of your oral health care, we’ve decided to list some of the answers to the questions that we’ve heard the most over the years. Read on to learn more about dental services and oral health, and feel free to get in touch with us if you have additional concerns.

Why should I go to the dentist every six months?

Six-month dental checkups give our team the opportunity to assess your smile, diagnose oral health concerns in the earliest stages, and offer conservative treatment options to preserve the maximum amount of healthy dental structure.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Call Meadvin Dental right away. We’re happy to help our patients who experience dental emergencies whenever they need us. We typically offer same day appointments. If we’re unable to see patients the day they call, we take time to walk them through first aid tips.

Should I have an oral cancer screening if I don’t smoke?

Yes. While smoking does significantly increase the risk for oral cancer, more than 25% of patients diagnosed with the disease do not use any form of tobacco. Oral cancer screenings are an essential part of every checkup at Meadvin Dental.

What are lasers used for in the dental office?

We use soft tissue lasers to treat patients with periodontal disease, remove or reshape damaged soft tissue, and prepare smiles prior to dental crown placement.

What are my cosmetic options?

Does teeth whitening work?

Professional teeth whitening offers predictable results for many patients. In most cases, we’re able to brighten smiles up to ten shades. Call to schedule a cosmetic dentistry consultation to find out if teeth whitening is the right solution to brighten your smile.

Do you take my insurance?

We would be happy to process and file your dental insurance claims, review your coverage with you, and provide estimates for out of pocket costs. Don’t hesitate to ask our team about insurance or financing options during your next visit.
